Adding Multiple Assignment Dates to the Calendar
Q: When I set up a case the case is displayed on the calendar. I would like the ability to add additional days to the case. not sequentially, and have them display on the calendar also.
Case in point; I have a case that we are working now for an insurance company. We originally were scheduled to work the case on 16 & 17 July. When I added that case, it displayed it on those days. We worked the case on those days and the client has now added an additional day on the 28th of July. I would like to be able to add that day to the calendar without having to change the original date and the case disappearing from the calendar on those days.
A: The system already allows you to add additional days. I will use the scenario you described as an example
You scheduled the case to be worked by Investigator A on July 16th and 17th and it displays on the calendar. The client then says, Bob, lets do another day. Open that case in the system and go to the Staff Tab. In the Case Assignments section, click on +Add. Choose the investigator and select the start date as the 28th and select the start time, then choose the 28th as the end date and select the end time. Click on Save and you are good to go.
Now you will see the first assignment you made (the 16th and 17th) and then the second assignment (on the 28th). Both of which will display and remained displayed on the calendar. You can make multiple investigator assignments on one case. This helps also in the future if the client calls 6 months from now and says, Hey Bob, reopen that Smith case for 3 days. This way you will be able to see who worked it and when in the past.
